VJ and host Nikhil Chinapa feels that love is only one aspect of MTV Splitsvilla

“More often than not,it is love. It takes just one glance to fall for someone head over heels,” says Nikhil Chinapa,MTV VJ and host for Splitsvilla Season 4,about the show that has been raising eyebrows for the last couple of years.

Love is part of the show but not all of it. “There is action, drama, twists, confrontation—and all this is happening in Dubai,” he says. Featuring 13 girls and four boys,in their respective qabilas (camps),the series is already on air. “The gamble in the tagline ‘gamble of love’ is a metaphor, the real test is in the connection and bonds of trust that one forges. Twists are engineered to put pressure on the contestants,” says Chinapa,on a visit to Chandigarh.

As someone who likes to observe,Chinapa says that he loves being part of the show. “I like to get into people’s mind and see what’s happening in there, what they do when they are placed in pressure cooker situations. Will they choose love or play the game when they actually fall for someone,” says he,as he goes to share details of the upcoming episodes, which will include a camel milking contest, and a new entrant,Sai Gundewar,Australia-based Maharashtrian model and actor.

Chinapa is also busy with the Sunburn Festival, which he intends to take to cities across India, this year. “It’s a hardcore DJ-based festival, that has some of the best DJs coming to Goa to play and party,” he says.
