Vivek School-38 hoopsters impress

The hoopsters of Vivek High School,Sector 38 were in rampaging form as they thrashed St Xavier's School,Sector 44,by 30-8 in a lop-sided encounter in the inter-school basketball tournament held at Sports Complex,Sector 46,on Tuesday.

The hoopsters of Vivek High School,Sector 38 were in rampaging form as they thrashed St Xavier’s School,Sector 44,by 30-8 in a lop-sided encounter in the inter-school basketball tournament held at Sports Complex,Sector 46,on Tuesday.

Then,New Public School,Sector 18,prevailed over St Anne’s School,Sector 32,by 14-8 while St Joseph’s School,Sector 44,registered an easy 36-5 victory over RIMT Manimajra. In the fourth match,Saupin’s School,Sector 32 beat Delhi Public School,Sector 40 by 27-4 and SGHK-38 whitewashed Baptist School,Sector 45,by 16-2.

Meanwhile,in the inter school football tournament (Under-19 boys) played at GMSSS-22,DAV School,Sector 8,prevailed over Shishu Niketan School,Sector 22 by 3-0 in the tie-breaker. Rahul,Amit and Sagar scored for DAV-8. In another match,Deepankar Relah scored the lone goal of the match in the 10th minute as New Public Schoo,Sector 18 registered a hard-fought 1-0 win over Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 37.

Then,in the inter school football tournament (Under-19 girls),Sacred Heart,Sector 26 eves outplayed Bhavan Vidyalaya 2-0. Anidya (7th) and Arshjot (27th) were the scorers for the team. Ryan International-49 then registered an easy 3-1 win over GMSSS-22. Komal,Prabhjot and Purva found the back of the net for Ryan International while Deepshika reduced the margin for GMSSS-22.

In the inter school lawn tennis tournament (Under-19 girls),Sacred Heart-26 outclassed St Anee’s-32 by 2-0 to enter the semi-finals. Aastha Malhotra and Akshita Singh won their respective singles matches. Ryan International-49 also reached semi-finals by defeating Vivek High School-38 by 2-0. Anshika and Harleen won their respective singles matches. Delhi Public School,Sector 40 and Gurukul Global completed the semi-final line-up by notching impressive victories.

In the Under-17 girls’ section,Sacred Heart-26 will face Carmel Convent-9 for the title. In the semi-finals,Sacred Heart-26 defeated DAVSSS-8 by 2-1 while Carmel Convent-9 recorded an easy 2-1 victory over DPS-40. In the Under-19 girls’ final,DAV Public School,Sector 8 blanked GMSSS-16 by 2-0 to claim the title. Gayatri and Nikita Bishnoi won their respective matches. The third place went to Sacred Heart-26 who defeated Carmel onvent-9 by 2-1.
