UT,MC employees protest not being allotted flats

The members of UT and MC Employees Sangharsh Committee held a protest at the Bridge Market in Sector 17 on Thursday.

The members of UT and MC Employees Sangharsh Committee held a protest at the Bridge Market in Sector 17 on Thursday. The demonstration was held in support of allotment of flats to the unsuccessful employees under the UT employees self financing housing scheme.

The speakers who addressed the gathering resented the non-fulfillment of the demands of the employees. They stated that no consideration was given to the allotment of flats to the applicants who were left out. They demanded that the Administration should accommodate the employees for which 70 acres land is required.

The union passed a resolution that new buses should be purchased for Chandigarh Transport Undertaking and the general manager of CTU be removed from the post. It was further resolved that the move to privatise UT Electricity Department would be stopped.
