Around 20 retired employees of Chandigarh Administration,on Thursday, moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court cried foul over the inordinate delay caused by the Chandigarh Housing Board in launching a 2008 self-financing housing scheme.

The petitioners claimed they and about 3,900 other employees were ‘victims’ at the hands of the CHB. The petitioners have averred the scheme had failed to start despite a lapse of over five and a half years, while the process of allotment of flats made at the same time under the general housing schemes had already culminated. They added CHB failed to sensitise itself to the needs of the people and to live up to its objectives.
