Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) has decided to extend its support to the traders association of Sector 17-A in opposing the proposed night food street under the new overbridge in front of TDI Mall.
A delegation of traders of Sector 17-A met Charan Jiv Singh, president of CBM,and asked him to take up the issue with Chandigarh Administration. Terming the proposed plan as a blow to the already depressed market of the city, the CBM has demanded that they should remain open in the day time also. The traders have held that the move will also cause sanitation problem in the area.
Giving an assurance to the traders,Singh has assured that CBM will support any protest called by the association for their genuine demands and that the matter will be taken up in the next AGM as well.
