Shivam Bhambri hammered a quick-fire century (111) to help Chandigarh Cricket Association Team A thrash Mohali Cricket Association Team B by eight wickets and get off to winning start in the CCA Cup U-19 cricket tournament being organised by Chandigarh Cricket Association,affiliated to Punjab Cricket Association,at Guru Nanak Public School,Sector 36,on Tuesday.

Earlier,MCA-B batted first and were restricted to 168 for 9 in the 46 over. Manjot Singh looked in good touch and hit some exquisite boundaries during his quick-fire 42-ball 68. Kunwar contributed with 21 runs. For CCA-A,Vaneet Dhaka was the pick of the bowlers as he took three wickets for 29 runs.

In reply,CCA-A got off to a flying start and reached the target in 26 overs for the loss of two wickets. Shivam Bhambri played a stellar knock and deservedly completed his century. His knock was embellished with some lovely drives and lofty shots. He hammered the opposition bowlers all over th ground and sealed the outcome of the match with a brilliant knock that came off 91 deliveries. Arjit chipped in with 21 runs. Nikhil took one wicket for 15 runs.
