Tibetan protester who immolated self cremated
With tears in their eyes and emotions running high,thousands of Tibetans,on Friday,attended the cremation of Jamphel Yeshis.
With tears in their eyes and emotions running high,thousands of Tibetans,on Friday,attended the cremation of Jamphel Yeshi’s – a Tibetan youth,who had set himself afire in New Delhi on March 26 to protest against the visit of Chinese president Chinese President Hu Jintao. The body of 27-year-old Yeshi,who succumbed to his injuries on March 28,was brought to McLeodganj,seat of the exiled government near Dharamsala. Terming him a martyr,Tibetan queued to pay homage and later joined the funeral,which passed off peacefully. Strict security arrangements were made by the district administration to avoid any untoward incident.
