The Haryana Government has implemented a new tourism policy under which integrated tourism resorts would be developed at Mallah near Pinjore,Kalesar in Yamunanagar and Madhogarh in Mahendergarh.
This was disclosed by Haryana Agriculture Minister Paramvir Singh after inaugurating the sixth Pinjore Heritage Festival being organised at Yadvendra Garden at Pinjore.
“Tourism has always been of special significance but in the present era of globalisation it has transformed as an industry. It is not only a means of amusement but has become a source of employment generation. This was the reason that every country and State were giving boost to tourism at a large scale and this heritage festival was the another initiative towards achieving this objective,” he added.
The minister said that the festival was organised every year by Haryana Tourism Department in collaboration with Ministry of Tourism,Government of India.
“The visitors get acquainted with the latest information on historical places at Pinjore situated at foothills of Shivalik. The organisation of the festival not only helps preserve our age old culture and tradition but also helps to promote tourism and enabled the artists to exhibit their art,” he said.
On the first day various competitions were held in which students from different schools of the district participated. A Mumbai-based Ghazal singer Chandan Dass presented Shaam-e-Ghazal,which enthralled the audience.
