Three kids burnt alive, fourth critical after LPG gas pipe leakage

Anita (7) is the only child who survived as she had gone to the toilet at the time of the accident.

Three kids were burnt alive while another was referred to the PGI hospital in Ludhiana after an LPG gas pipe leaked and resulted in fire on Saturday.

The incident took place when Sunita Devi, the mother of the three children, was cooking food in the room of a rented accommodation in the morning while the kids played in the same room.

The entire family stayed in a single room of a common ‘Vehra’, which houses 100 other persons.

The deceased children have been identified as Lado (One and a half years), Neetu (5), Krishna (4) and the injured kid as Kajal (9) who sustained more than 95 per cent burns and has been referred to the PGI hospital. Her condition is stated to be critical. All three dead bodies have been handed over to the family after post-mortem.

Anita (7) is the only child who survived as she had gone to the toilet at the time of the accident.

Ramesh, father of the deceased children, who works as a welder was out for work when the incident happened.
