Three held for not furnishing tenant details,police to continue drive

T0 ensure that landowners do not rent out houses without furnishing information of their tenants to the police,the Chandigarh Police on Saturday launched a special search drive to check paying guest accommodations and private houses in Sector-20 A and D. During inspection,it came to light that three house owners had not submitted their tenant-information form at the Sector-19 Police Station and police beat staff.

An FIR under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) was registered against the three defaulters. Those booked were Kimti Lal,Surinder Kumar and Pramod Makol,all residents of Sector 20. The accused were arrested and later released on bail by the court.

A senior police officer said,“Such raids will be carried out in future as well. Complete co-operation from public is required to curb this crime”.
