Man commits suicide in Dadumajra
Chandigarh: A suicide case was reported on Saturday evening in which a driver hung himself at his residence in House number 274,near Mari in village Dadumajra. The 30-year-old Mahabir Singh,committed suicide when his family had gone to visit their village. The man is said to have been a habitual drinker.
Ambala reservation office to be shifted
Ambala: The reservation office at the Ambala Cantonment railway station will be shifted to the railway station for the facility of the passengers,said Union Railway Minister Pawan Bansal here on Saturday. Presently the reservation office is functioning from a building which is at a long distance from the station and is very inconvenient for the passengers and other people. Bansal added that the waiting hall for the general public will also be expanded and renovated by providing modern facilities.
Book by former PU dean released
Chandigarh: Sahitya Akademi and Aadhar Prakashan released a book,’Sookhi Hawa Ki Aawaaz’,written by former Dean University Instructions (DUI),Panjab University (PU) Bhupinder Brar at the Chemical Engineering Auditorium of the varsity on Saturday. The function was attended by renowned poet Asad Zaidi who has also written the blurb of the book,journalist and poet Nirupama Dutt,poet S Sehgal and Vice-Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover.
Trainee surgeons practice on cadavers
Chandigarh: A two-day hands-on cadaveric head and neck and temporal bone workshop began in the Department of ENT at PGIMER,Chandigarh on Saturday.The workshop aims at training young trainee surgeons to perform hands-on surgical procedures on the cadavers.
Talk on cuber bullying
Chandigarh: A talk on Cyber Bullying was delivered by Emeritus Prof Peter K Smith from Goldsmith college,University of London at Government Home Science College,Sector 10. He spoke on various issues like what includes cyber bullying,its types,prevalence and motives and the various guidance and intervention programs.
