Teacher’s Day: Chandigrah schools celebrate Teachers’ Day

Teacher’s Day was celebrated all across chandigrah with many schools making it an event to celebrate

St. Xaviers School

CHANDIGARH: Teacher’s Day was celebrated at St. Xavier’s Senior Secondary School,Sector 44 with around 110 teachers taking part in a gala get-together at Hotel Western Court,Sector 43,while principal Mervin West cut a cake on the occasion along with colleagues who completed 25 years of service at the school.

Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management

CHANDIGARH: The IHM,Sector 42 celebrated Teacher’s Day with games organised at the institute,including ‘aim the bucket’ and antakshri. The function was based on the theme ‘Incredible India’,where students presented dance performances depicting the cultures of the country,while the band presented a vocal solo performance and folk songs.

Stepping Stones School

CHANDIGARH: Students of Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School presented flowers and cards to teachers on Teacher’s Day. A special assembly was organised where students presented dance performances,skits,speeches and poems.

Mind Tree School

CHANDIGARH: On Teacher’s Day,the auditorium at Mind Tree School was abuzz with renditions of Sanskrit shlokas,poems and songs,followed by classical dance performances. The school management later,as a surprise,took the staff out for a movie and lunch at Elante Mall.

Ryan International School

CHANDIGARH: Teacher’s Day was celebrated at Ryan International School with students welcoming teachers in the traditional Indian style. A special assembly was held,where students presented a cultural extravaganza and teachers were honoured with titles and awards.


CHANDIGARH: Teacher’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in the assembly ground of GMHS-34 by the head,teachers and the students. Performances on the occasion included,shabad gyan,singing dhohas and poem recitation by students. Also,an exhibition was arranged by students of different classes on the theme of “Book of knowledge”.

Divya Public School

CHANDIGARH: Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great fervour at Divya Public School,Sector 44 with students giving greeting cards to their teachers and principal. A speech on the importance of the day was delivered by the principal,while the best teacher and winners of different games organised were awarded.

Hallmark Public School

Panchkula: On Teacher’s Day,Hallmark Public School presented awards and trophies to teachers,who sat in classrooms and acted as students. The students,meanwhile,gave thanks-giving speeches and presented dance performances,poems and mimicry on the occasion.

Hansraj Public School

Panchkula: Teacher’s Day was celebrated at the Hansraj Public School,Panchkula with a special assembly conducted by the students as a mark of respect for teachers. Entertaining plays,dances,poems and speeches were put up by the students. Also,the school was called off at half day,following which the staff was taken for lunch to JW Marriot.

Sacred Souls’ School

MOHALI: Sacred Souls’ School in Gharuan celebrated Teacher’s Day with a function graced by Chairperson Baba Jagjit Singh Ji,who showered his blessings on the students and the teachers,while various games were organised for the teachers.

SJOBA honours teachers

CHANDIGARH: St. Johns Old Boys Association (SJOBA),celebrated Teacher’s Day by hosting a lunch and cake-cutting ceremony at Kava,Sector 26 to honour the teachers. Ex-students,who are a part of SJOBA’s executive team for 2013-14,gathered to express gratitude to their teachers.

Lions Club honours five teachers

CHANDIGARH: The Lions Club of Chandigarh celebrated Teacher’s Day by honouring five teachers,including Neenu Seth,principal at an elementary school in Haryana,Vandana Issar Tripathi,PGT teacher at DAV Senior Secondary School,Panchkula,Sunita Uppal,lecturer in GSSS,Panchkula,Ram Singh Sandhu,principal,GSSS,GMS-46 and Satpinder Kaur Walia,teacher at GSSS,Bhankarpur.
