The government teachers union (GTU) on Monday deliberated on the policy of admission for Class XI and other classes in the government schools. The committee demanded review of admission policy,as hundreds of students couldn’t get admission in schools even after the third and fourth counselling, this year.

GTU claimed that the wards of school teachers and employees of education department were denied admissions in Class XI,which is why the union has demanded to form a policy so that the wards of teachers can be admitted in the government schools for all classes, including pre-nursery. GTU president Vinod Sharma said,“Education department is yet to implement the policy. We also raised the same issue at the teacher’s conference on August 31 in the presence of the education secretary so that the department can take quick action.”

Meanwhile,GTU has also decided to send a delegation to press for implementing the already fulfilled demands which include promotion of JBT,nursery teachers and left-out masters/mistresses,fixation of notional pay, regularisation of SSA teachers, grade pay of Rs 4,200 to nursery, tabla instructors and tailoring teachers etc.

A meeting of the executive body will be convened on September 18 at 5 pm in the park of Sector 19,near Sita Ram Mandir.
