From TDI to Aerocity, residents face daily power outage this summer

Unscheduled power cuts have left Mohali residents in a lurch with temperatures soaring over 42°C. Areas like TDI City (Sectors 117, 118, 119, 74A, and 92) are facing daily outages, especially at night, leaving hundreds sleep-deprived and frustrated.

The TDI Residents’ Rights Protection and Welfare Society has submitted a complaint to PSPCL and local authorities, demanding urgent intervention. It highlights recurring issues like transformer failures, cable faults, and feeder overloads, claiming conditions are worsening.

However, the crisis is not limited to TDI, Aerocity, New Sunny Enclave, Phase 9, sectors 80, 66, 67, and 68 are also battling 2-3 hour daily cuts. In rural areas like Balongi, Bar Majra, Jujharnagar and Badi, residents report going entire days without power. Office-goers in phases 7 and 8 say even inverters can’t keep up.
