Tax officer’s accounts unsealed for family use

The family of the accused Income Tax Officer,Rakesh Jain,who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26,2013 had moved an application for opening the seals of two bank accounts.

The family of the accused Income Tax Officer,Rakesh Jain,who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26,2013 had moved an application for opening the seals of two bank accounts. The applications were on Wednesday allowed by the CBI Special Court here.

The accused was arrested on February 6,allegedly demanding and accepting an illegal gratification of Rs 50,000. Following his arrest,all the bank accounts of the officer were sealed. His wife,Suneet Jain had moved a petition stating that two accounts which were in the names of Jain’s wife and his father to be opened as the family was facing trouble in household work.

The application was allowed by the court and the CBI has been directed to open two accounts. CBI had recovered many incriminating documents and gold and cash worth nearly a crore from his lockers and bank accounts.
