Syndicate to discuss extension to dual course

The Panjab University (PU) syndicate will discuss if approval should be granted to the recommendations made by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology for extending five years BE Chemical engineering course with MBA from five years to five and half years. The Syndicate is scheduled to meet on March 16.

The House would also deliberate on the recommendations seeking amendment of its earlier decision of making the videography of Senate/Syndicate from experimental basis to permanent affair.

As per the agenda,the Syndics will also be expressing their views of providing scholarships worth Rs 21.60 lakh to 210 students of University Institute of Open learning whose parents annual income is up to Rs 2 lakh per annum and 59 students of other departments.

Apart from deciding on two appointments in Laws department,the House will discuss cases of certain colleges located in Fazilka and Ludhiana where the authorities had admitted large number of students against the sanctioned seats.
