Play Ground : Wings Theatre Academy’s “Natya Naach” is a workshop for students which introduces one to theatre and dance (class I to X). The camp will be conducted by Zubin Mehta and Puneet Jewandah at St Kabir School,Sector 26,Chandigarh,from May 27 to June 7. Contact: 9888577481

Chefs in the Making: Tiny Feet in Sector 8 has planned a free cooking workshop for children at Fabindia,Sector 17,on May 26. Here,children will learn to make items such as sandwiches and edible teacups. May 20 onwards also has sessions such as “Cooking Up Stories” (4-6 years),“Writer’s Wit” (8-10 years) with Shiraz Saini,“Little Picasso” painting course (7 years onwards) and theatre workshop (7-9 years) with Harinder Sandhu. Loud & Clear : Theatre,dance and public speaking come together in a workshop designed by Giving Tree,in association with the Alankar Theatre Group. Facilitated by theatre professionals from Delhi’s National School of Drama and Theatre Department,Panjab University,the workshop (May 24 to June 14) intends to get the young ones (6-13 years) initiated into multiple musical genres such as jazz and hip hop,and delve into the basics of drama and miming. Indoor Action: Popular among children for its indoor activities,Kid’s Own is organising two modules in June covering personality development,which includes communication skills and public speaking. Also part of the schedule are creative writing and storytelling workshops along with non-fire cooking. Seasons in the Sun : Planning to keep the little ones constructively busy is Go Bananas Kids Club with field visits,splash pool parties,music,dance and drama,art,craft (open to all age groups). Off the Beaten Track : Coveda is a parent home-schooling community for children from varied economic and social backgrounds. These range from a watercolour workshop with freelance artist and illustrator Som Dikpati to a maths workshop with Shashi Bala (4-6 years). For children aged between 7-10 years looking to solve riddles and conduct experiments can join Anupama Neogi,an educationist,storyteller and puppeteer,for sessions in science.
