Student body demands extension of timing at girls’ hostels at PU

Members of Student Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU) held a demonstration outside the Administration block of Panjab University (PU) on Saturday,demanding extension of entry time for residents of girls’ hostels from 9:30 pm to 10 pm.

They also demanded that the hostel residents should be allowed to park their vehicles inside the hostel parking areas and an underground or multilevel-parking facility should be arranged in order to ensure safe parking of vehicles. Among other demands,the party members asked for a uniformity in the fee structure of re-appear examination of self-financed courses.

Speaking on behalf of the PU management,Dr Yograj Angrish has assured that the issues will be discussed in the next meeting of the syndicate. He has also assured that a uniform fee will be charged for re-appear examinations after taking approval of the authorities.

Senior leaders of SOPU,Rashpal Hakuwala and Robin Brar welcomed the decision of the authorities.
