There is a new address in the city that invites people of all ages to join in,stay relaxed, calm and happy. Especially young corporates, who look, feel and behave exhausted. There is a growing tribe of these at the Yogcafe, opened by city-based 26-year-old Kanwaljeet Kaur. “Just sitting straight will do so much good to your spine and give all the organs space to move, breathe and be healthy,’’ says 26-year-old Kaur,as she rolls out her yoga mat at Yogcafe,a space that she describes as a yoga community. Teaching the intricacies of Ahstanga Vinyasa,a physically demanding form of yoga, for Kaur, migration towards yoga was gradual. Demands of changing cities and working in corporate sector drove her towards yoga and those teaching it. And what began as a form of personal expression and relief, gradually transformed into a career,“I wanted to share the same joy with others. Health, flexibility, inner peace and acceptance — yoga has completely changed me as a person — physically, mentally and spiritually. So here I am,looking to help young people like me ,” says Kaur.

Constantly travelling to Mysore and Rishikesh for the last ten years to gather more experience, her students are taught to connect with the inner self. “It’s a place where we meet, talk,do yoga and connect with each other. In the process we have fun and spread the joy,’’ says Kaur.

De-stressing is easy, she talks to a young IT expert,“just create a third witness attitude and not take every incident so seriously,’’ explains Kaur who is also training young girls living in an underprivileged colony, and grooming them to be future yoga trainers and earn a living.
