CHANDIGARH: The statements of three people were recorded in the corruption case against former NCB Director Saji Mohan. The statements of Dr T Joshi,a document expert with CFSL was recorded. He told the court that he had matched the writings on the voucher which was used to withdraw Rs 13.85 lakh from the NCB warehouse. He testified that the handwriting on the voucher matched Saji Mohan’s handwriting. The statements of a NCB employee and a RLA employee were also recorded. Saji and other NCB officials were booked in 2009,for pilfering contraband,seized from various places in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

SSA teachers’ body demands regularisation

Chandigarh: Seven months after the directions from the Ministry of Human Resource Development in Project Approval Board meeting held in 2011 to regularise the services of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers,no action has been taken by the SSA Society and Education Department,Chandigarh. A general house meeting was organised by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teacher’s Welfare Association (SSATWA) at Masjid Ground,Sector 20 on the issue “Mission Regularization” where they took the pledge to prepare the policy in 20 days and hand it over to the Finance-cum-Education Secretary,SSA Society and DPI (Schools).

GMCH-32 employees hold strike for salary

CHANDIGARH: The contractual employees at Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32 observed a two-hour strike on Wednesday morning. The employees involved in general services were protesting as they were not paid salaries for the month. Following the protest the salary of the employees were released in the evening. Around 400 employees were part of the strike.

Will declared a forgery after 17 years

CHANDIGARH: In a order passed by a local court,it was declared that a Will had been forged and fabricated. The Will was from 1993. The order was passed by Civil Judge Parinder Singh. The forged document was allegedly created by Vijay Sharma,reader DRT,Chandigarh and his brother Ajay Sharma,principal of SD High School,Sector 24,in connivance with D R Sharma,Ramesh Sharma,Bharat Ashtha,a Punjab Police Inspector and Gulshan Rai.
