Statements recorded in 3-year-old’s rape

Court of Additional District & Sessions Judge,Shalini S Nagpal recorded the statements of all four prosecution witnesses on the first day of prosecution evidence,in a case of rape of a three-year-old. The statement of the accused was also recorded under Section 313 of the CrPC

Court of Additional District & Sessions Judge,Shalini S Nagpal recorded the statements of all four prosecution witnesses on the first day of prosecution evidence,in a case of rape of a three-year-old. The statement of the accused was also recorded under Section 313 of the CrPC.

Charges in the case were framed on July 16. The case will be heard next on August 31. “On the first day of prosecution evidence statements of all prosecution witnesses has been recorded and the case is expected to be decide by the first week of September. The court is ensuring earliest possible disposal of the cases related to sexual offenses against children”,said public prosecutor Manu Kakkar.

On February 13,the accused Bhupindar,25,allegedly tried to rape the three-year-old girl when her mother was not at home. Victims father,a resident of Kishangarh,Chandigarh,is an auto driver. \The accused was arrested on February 14 following a complain by the victim’s father.

The accused was booked under Section 376,511of the IPC. He was also booked under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
