All India Congress Committee General Secretary and Haryana State Affairs Incharge,BK Hariprasad today announced the constitution of a state-level committee to monitor the working and implementation of UPA and state government flagship programmes.
Talking to mediapersons following a meeting with party men,Hariprasad added that the decision regarding the re-constitution of State Coordination Committee would soon be taken in consultation with the Pradesh Congress Committee. He said,as per the decision of Burari conclave of AICC,other than a state level committee, district level committees would be constituted for monitoring the implementation of the NDA schemes.
He said ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyaan’ would be launched in the state and Vidhan Sabha level meetings would be organised in which Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and HPCC President,Phool Chand Mullana would participate.
Regarding the appointment of a new State Congress President for Haryana,Hariprasad said that the decision would be taken by the Congress President,Sonia Gandhi. Till the decision is taken,Mullana will continue to be the State President. It is like a relay race, once somebody is appointed, the baton would be handed over,he added. He said Mullana may have lost the assembly election but under the joint leadership of Hooda and Mullana, the Congress Party had won the Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha elections. “He has delivered the goods”,he further added.
Hariprasad said the process for appointing the Chairmen of various Boards and Corporations was in progress. When asked whether there were camps in the State Congress,he said that there was only one camp in the Congress that was of Sonia Gandhi, under whose leadership all the party workers were serving the people.
Earlier in the day,he warned Congressmen against factionalism. Addressing Congress’ Members of Parliament,Ministers,Chief Parliamentary Secretaries,MLAs,District Congress Presidents,Block Congress Presidents and party workers at the Haryana State Congress office here,Hariprasad said the Congress party did not believe in religion and caste and had taken a number of steps at the national level to improve the lot of people.
Addressing the meeting on this occasion,Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said the organisation should remain connected with the common man. He said a programme was being framed as per which the ministers would meet the party workers in the party offices. He said that the workers were the backbone of the Congress party and due respect should be given to them. He said that he believed that the organisation was supreme. He added that the opposition had no issue today and if anybody could weaken the Congress it would be the party itself.
Finance minister Captain Ajay Yyadav demanded that party ticket holders who could not win elections or lost with narrow margins be adjusted by the party and all efforts should be made to fill up the posts of the chairmen of improvement trusts, marker committees etc. He added that several senior leaders of the Congress who could not be adjusted in the party’s executive committee should be nominated into the executive.
Faridabad MP Avtar Singh Badhana said the rallies which were being organised across the state did not include several local MPs and other Congress leaders. He said such rallies should also be organised at the parliamentary constituency level and the first such rally could be started from Faridabad.
Responding to a query at his first press conference,Hariprasad said the Haryana Chief Minister was better than his Gujarat counterpart Narender Modi. He said Gujarat and Haryana also cannot be compared as Gujarat had been a leading developed state since its inception, whereas Haryana’s progress is a recent phenomenon.
