Buoyed by brilliant performances from Virat Katwal (34) and Zorawar Singh (3 for 14),St Joseph’s School,Sector 44 recorded a narrow eight-run over Delhi Public School,Sector 40 in a match played during the ongoing UT inter-school cricket tournament for U-17 boys at GMSSS Sector 19. St Joseph’s School were bowled out for 113 runs. Shivansh bowled well for DPS by taking three wickets. For St Joseph’s,Virat top scored with 34 runs. In reply,DPS could muster 105 run and lost seven wickets in 20 overs. Though Arnav scored 42 runs,but he found no support from the other end. For the winning team, Zorawar Singh (3 for 14),Dheeraj (2 for 18) and Amul Phondini (2 for 22) were the successful bowlers. With this win,St Joseph’s entered the semifinals of the tournament. They will take on GMSSS Sector 35 in the semi-finals.

Sauravs fifer in vain as Sankalp Club lose
Saurav’s splendid bowling spell (5 for 52) went in vain as Sankalp Cricket Club,Rohtak lost to Sunshine Cricket Club,Rohtak by 91 runs in the 2nd Dusshera Cup cricket tournament held at Black Elephant Cricket Club ground in Patiala on Monday. Chasing Sunshine Club’s 155,Sankalp were all out for 64. Earlier,Sunshine Club batted first and posted 155 runs in 34.5 overs. Sushant top scored with 33 runs. For Sankalp,Saurav bowled well to return with a five-wicket haul. Chasing the target,Sankalp Club were all out for 64 in 17.5 overs. Mudit bowled well for Sunshine Club and grabbed four wickets. Shekhar and Aman took two wickets each. In another match,Dronacharya Cricket Foundation,Delhi crushed Haryana Partap Club,Karnal by 137 runs. The Delhi team batted first and scored 230 for 4 in 50 overs. Suryansh top scored with 62 runs. In reply,HPC Karnal were shot out for 93 in 43 overs. Meanwhile,Balaji Cricket Club,Bahadurgarh eked out a narrow seven-run win over Black Elephant Cricket Club,Patiala. BCC Bahadurgarh were all out for 81 while batting first. However,the BECC batsmen failed to get going against a disciplined Bahadurgarh bowling attack and were bundled out for 74 runs. In another low-scoring match,Florence Cricket Club,New Delhi handed a seven-wicket thrashing to Shivam Cricket Club,Ludhiana. The Ludhiana team batted first and were skittled out for 64 in 11 overs. The Delhi team achieved the target for the loss of three wickets in 11 overs.
YPS Mohali record victory
Led by Darshbir’s knock of 39 runs,YPS Mohali recorded a 35-run win over St Stephen’s School Sector 45,Chandigarh in the ongoing Yadavindra Public School U-17 cricket tournament being played for Challenger Trophy. On winning the toss,YPS batted first and posted a total of 138 runs for the loss of four wickets. Darshbir played an impressive 35-ball 39 while Yuvraj chipped in with 26 runs. In reply,St Stephen’s School were bowled out for 103 runs in 20 overs.
