Spl cell to handle cyber crime started

The UT Police has come up with a dedicated cell to handle cyber crime complaints in a recent re-shuffle of Deputy Superintendents of the Police.

The UT Police has come up with a dedicated cell to handle cyber crime complaints in a recent re-shuffle of Deputy Superintendents of the Police (DSPs). Four inspectors have also been transferred.

As per the latest reshuffle,DSP Rajesh Kalia,on deputation from Haryana has been appointed as the DSP Cyber Crime Cell in addition to the CRU (community relations unit). Kalia will be handling the cyber crime cases with a 10-member team of inspectors,sub-inspectors and computer operators.

A woman inspector,Reena,has also been deputed in the cyber crime cell. “As many woman approach the cyber crime cell regarding inappropriate matter posted about them on social networking websites and other such complaints,the need for a woman inspector was felt. So,a woman inspector has been deputed,” said the IGP,R P Upadhyaya.

DSP Roshan Lal who was handling the charge of Communications has been given an additional charge of the Law and Order of the city.

The traffic has been divided between three DSPs. DSP Kamal Deep is the DSP traffic (Administration and East Zone),DSP Deepak Saharan is the DSP Security Wing (headquarters) and Traffic (Central Zone) and DSP Jai Bhagwan who has recently joined from Delhi on deputation is given the DSP Security Wing (Operations) and Traffic (Road Safety and South Zone). DSP Krishan Kumar Sharma,has been given the charge of DSP headquarters,PG Cell and Senior Staff Officer to IGP/UT.
