Shahnaz Gill’s father gets ransom call for Rs 50 lakh, given security: Police
As he reported the matter to the local police, he was provided with four police personnel for his security, sources said.
“We are investigating whether the present call was just an attempt to get more security cover. Whatever comes out of the investigation, will be brought to light,” the DSP added.
(File Photo/Representational) Big Boss fame actor Shahnaz Gill’s father Santokh Gill alleged that he had received calls threatening him and demanding a ransom of Rs 50 lakh, police said.
As he reported the matter to the local police, he was provided with four police personnel for his security, sources said.
Baba Bakala DSP Shavinder Pal Singh said, “Police are investigating the case from every angle. Further action will be taken based on the facts that emerge. Santokh Gill was provided with four security persons. When I inspected his security recently, I found he had sent security men for some other purpose. Following this, one security personnel was withdrawn from his cover. He still has three personnel attached to him. He also has seven-eight criminal cases registered against him.”
