Seminar on violence,peace and conflict resolution concludes at GCG-11

The two-day national conference on ‘Violence,Peace and Conflict Resolution’ concluded at Government College for Girls (GCG),Sector 11 on Wednesday.

At the conference,eminent speakers shared their views on how to curb violence. The guest of honour for the valedictory function was Prof Vahida Khan from Jamia Millia Islamia,New Delhi. Khan made a presentation on various topics like terrorism,violence and peace building in Jammu and Kashmir. She said all forms of violence can be curbed and there is a solution to every conflict.

The chief guest on the occasion was Vipin Pubby,Resident Editor,The Indian Express (Chandigarh). He congratulated the college for holding a seminar on such an important topic and shared his views with the audience. “Conflicts are bound to happen but a human being is blessed with an ability to settle such problems. Violence is becoming a part of one’s personality and thus needs to be corrected since the very beginning,” he said.

He also shared his reporting experiences when he had reported in the days of terrorism.

Those present on the occasion include College Principal Dr Promilla Kaushal,Director of Higher Education Raji P Srivastava.
