The Department of Food Science and Technology,MCM DAV College,Sector 36 gave a common platform to the industry,academia and policy agencies came together and gave an impetus to the process of developing a processing sector by implementing new technologies during the national seminar on ‘the emerging trends in food science and technology.
The seminar was loaded with informative presentations and addresses by research scholars,experts and dignitaries from the renowned institutions in food science and technology enlightened the audience which consisted of students,research scholars,scientists,academicians,industrial professionals and emerging entrepreneurs from the national level.
The seminar deliberated mainly on the areas like innovations in food science and technology,advances in food biotechnology,microbial applications in food and fermentation and new frontiers in human nutrition.
A number of scholars and experts from the field attended the conference. S K Sarkar,Joint Director,Indian Institute of Packaging,New Delhi; Dr A K Singh from NDRI,Karnal; Dr D N Yadav from CIPHET,Punjab Agriculture University,Ludhiana; Dr Paramjeet Panesar from SLIET,Longowal; Dr Monika Garg from NABI,Mohali and various prestigious colleges from across the nation participated in the seminar.
