The internal roads in Sector 27 had been widened to accommodate the increasing rush of vehicles. Authorities, however, seem to have forgotten to pick up the excess tiles, which are still found lying on the pavements.
The work on widening the internal roads was started before the onset of monsoons last year. After digging,it was found that electricity cables would have to be shifted.
Till the permission for this was received from the Administration, the road remained dug up,thus inconveniencing the residents.
R K Garg,a resident of the area said: The work of widening has not been completed, even three months after it was started. I had earlier filed an application under the Right to Information Act,but have not received any reply yet. I now plan to approach the higher authorities.
Residents also complain that the road gullies that had been dug up during the widening process have not been covered yet, owing to which,it has become dangerous for children to play outside.
Another resident, meanwhile, said the road gullies should have been filled up,which has also affected the flow of water.
The sector is also plagued by construction waste lying near houses and behind the market, which needs to be spruced up.
The owners of the Booth market also complained about the lack of maintenance for the upkeep the area.
