The all-weather swimming pool in Sector 23 is all set to be reopened in around two weeks. The swimming pool has been under construction for the last two months, and has been closed for repairs during the period.
The septic tank of the pool is being repaired as there is seepage in the tank. Due to the seepage in the septic tank of the pool, problem was being faced during the circulation of water in the pool. The water in the tank was getting drained out due to the seepage, said Dr JPS Sidhu,Joint Director,Sports,Chandigarh.
He further said that this kind of problem has been faced earlier also in the septic tank of the pool and at that time also the tank was repaired for the convenience of the public. But this time we are working on all the layers of the septic tank so that there is a permanent solution to the problem, he added.
He said,Another problem which is being repaired is that the roots of the trees around the premises of the swimming pool had entered the pool and due to that, seepage was happening through the tiles of the pool. The roots which have entered through the tiles have been plucked so that the problem of seepage can be solved.
He added that the repair work will be done in approximately another ten days and then another three to four days will be taken for cleaning and filling the pool after which the all-weather swimming pool will be open and can be used.
