School bus tyre bursts,runs over divider,no injuries

A tragedy was averted by the driver of a school bus on Thursday afternoon,after one of the tyres of the bus burst near the railway station light point.

A tragedy was averted by the driver of a school bus on Thursday afternoon,after one of the tyres of the bus burst near the railway station light point. None of the children in the bus were injured.

The accident took place around 2.30 pm,when a bus of Bhawan Vidyala School,Sector 27,was on its way to Panchkula to drop children.

A traffic police officer said,“Around 100 metres from the light point,the front-right tyre of the bus burst. In order to save the children and to bring the speeding bus to a halt,the driver ran the bus over the divider of the road”.

“None of the children were hurt. The bus driver called for another bus,which took the students home. No case has been registered,as no one was at fault,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police (East) Vijay Kumar.
