Saupin’s will take on Mount Carmel School in the quarter-final match to be played on Thursday at the Sector 42 Sports Complex.

Meanwhile,in another match,Ashiana Public School,Sector 46,Chandigarh prevailed over Government High School,Sector 38,Chandigarh,4-3,in a penalty shootout after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

In a thrilling encounter,St Stephen’s School,Sector 45,registered a hard-fought 3-2 win over Tribune Model School,Sector 29,Chandigarh,in the penalty shootout. In the matches played at GMSSS-22 Ground,Government High School,Sector 24,Chandigarh outplayed St Mary’s School,Sector 46,Chandigarh,4-1,while St John’s School,Sector 26,recorded a thumping 4-1 win over Ryan International School,Sector 49,Chandigarh. Vivek High School,on the other hand,crushed Kundan International School,Sector 46,Chandigarh,4-0,while SFWS-26 defeated KB DAV School,Sector 7,Chandigarh,4-0,in a lop-sided encounter.

CHANDIGARH: Monarch Goyal’s unbeaten knock of 37 runs enabled Strawberry Fields World School,Sector 26,to beat Delhi Public School,Sector 40,by four runs in a thrilling match played during UT Inter-School cricket tournament for U-14 boys at GMSSS,Sector 35,on Wednesday. Batting first,Strawberry Fields World School were restricted to 76 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Monarch top scored with 37 runs for the Strawberry team. In reply,DPS team made 72 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.

In another match,Saupin’s-32 reached quarter- finals by registering a 78-run win over KBDAV,Sector 7. Electing to bat first,Saupin’s 32 scored 183 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Gauravdeep made 29 runs while Satyam scored 20 runs. In reply,KBDAV scored 105 runs in 20 overs for the loss of six wickets. Rubkaran scored 37 runs while Shubham chipped in 27 runs. Arpit bagged three wickets for the winning team.

St Joseph’s School also tasted victory in the Inter-School cricket tournament by beating Vivek High School by seven wickets. Avneet Singh (4 for 2) and Divyansh Gumra (3 for 4) emerged as the stars for St Joseph’s School. Vivek School were all out for 49 runs in 17 overs. In reply,St Joseph’s School achieved the target in 9.4 overs. Similarly,St Kabir School,Sector 32 beat St John’s School by 29 runs.
