A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Tuesday extended the judicial remand of Swami Aseemanand,Kamal Chauhan and Lokesh Sharma, accused in the Samjhauta blast case.
However,Lokesh Sharma moved an application seeking directions to the Superintendent Jail,Ambala, asking him to get his (Lokesh Sharma) ultrasound conducted. Sharma has taken the plea that the jail doctor had recommended his ultrasound and that the equipment for conducting ultrasound in Civil Hospital,Ambala, was not functioning.
Refusing to pass any directions, the NIA court,Panchkula, directed the co-accused to file an application before the Superintendent,Ambala Jail, and let him decide it first.
Aseemanand and the co-accused will now again be produced before the NIA court on August 6. As per the NIA,Sharma had played a key role in procuring and planting bombs in the train which left 68 people dead. Also,as per the NIA,Sharma had procured ammunition and explosive material to bomb the train.
