As per agreement with the traders, the two parking lots of Sector 17 have been opened only till the time 50 per cent of work of Sector 17 rejuvenation project is not complete. Once half the work is completed, the two parking lots will be closed again as the area would be developed under the Smart City project.
Till 11.30 am, the parking lots are closed so that traders park their vehicles at the multilevel parking. However, it was noticed that many people park their vehicles on the road itself, waiting for these parking lots to open, instead of going to the multilevel facility.
Earlier, in the auction of 22 paid parking lots, MC earned Rs 5.31 crore. Then, the highest bid went to Sector 35-C paid parking lot — 59 lakh.
