Chandigarh golfers Saaniya Sharma and Preetinder Kaur will hope to claim a top-three spot in the championship when the sixth leg of the Women’s Pro Golf tour kicks off at Panchkula Golf Club today. While Saaniya Sharma finished sixth in the last leg held at Chandigarh Golf Club last week,Preetinder Kaur finished third with a total score of 23 in the Chandigarh event.
Kolkata Golfer,Neha Tripathi,will be a strong contender for the top spot in the sixth leg along with veteran golfer Smriti Mehra. Both thegolfers have won two legs each on the tour so far while Sharmila Nicollet is the only other golfer to have won a leg this season. The tournament,which will be played from March 19 to March 21 carries atotal prize-money of INR 5,00,000.
Neha Tripathi fresh from her win in the fifth leg will be eager to extend her winning spree at Panchkula this week. Looking at her performance graph this season,the Kolkata golfer who is currently placed second in the Hero Order Merit,stands a strong chance oftaking the top spot as just INR 5000 separates her from the current leader,Smriti Mehra.
