A shopkeeper on Sunday was robbed of Rs 3.5 lakh when unidentified persons allegedly attacked him when he was changing the punctured tyre of his car. A few documents were also stolen from the car (XUV 500) that was parked in Burail village.

A resident of Sector 15 Panchkula,Pawan Kumar runs a grocery store in Burail village. Around 8.45 pm,Kumar collected a few documents,including his driving license,and around Rs 3.5 lakh. He put the valuables in a blue bag and closed the shop.

Kumar then put the

bag on the front seat of his car and called two of his employees to change the punctured tyre.

While the employees were changing the tyre,Kumar noticed a youth sitting near his car and watching his every move. Another youth approached him for directions. After Kumar told the him the direction,he noticed the car door open and the bag missing.

“I suspect both the unidentified youths to have committed the crime,” he said. A case of theft under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered with the Sector 34 police.
