The terrible state of the roads in Sector- 21 D and 21 C have become a major cause of worry for the residents due to the numerous potholes and cracks. The area continues to witness a number of accidents and residents have alleged negligence by the authorities.
Triloki Nath Ranjan,a resident of Sector 21- D says,I fell into one of the potholes in January and am being treated for the knee problem it has caused me since then. I have to get an operation soon for a knee replacement at Alchemist Hospital.
The area outside the Manav Mangal High School in Sector 21- C is full of potholes which make it very difficult for the children to cross the road especially during the rainy season. For two wheelers and cyclists, crossing this road after school gets over becomes a hard task, says Kishan, father of a class VI student enrolled in the school.

During the election campaigns, many leaders made promises about fixing the problem if they were elected to office, but nothing has been done so far.
Upon being asked about the situation,Residents Welfare Association member Baljinder Singh Bittu said,The Superintendent Engineer,Mukesh Anand who is in-charge of the road maintenance, has promised that work will resume next week. It was held up as the contractor who was supposed to repair the road for a year, did not do so.
Councilor Mukesh Bassi said that the work will resume as soon as the weather becomes favourable and that it could not begin immediately because of the recent rains in the tricity area.
