Republic Day contingent felicitated

The second runner-up Republic Day Contingent 2012 was felicitated by Major General Mohabat Singh Virk,Additional Director General,NCC Directorate,today,in a function organised at NCC Group Head Quarters,CCET,Chandigarh.

The second runner-up Republic Day Contingent (RDC) 2012 was felicitated by Major General Mohabat Singh Virk,Additional Director General(ADG),NCC Directorate,today,in a function organised at NCC Group Head Quarters,CCET,Chandigarh. The contingent comprising 156 cadets from the states of Punjab,Haryana,Himachal Pradesh,and Chandigarh,participated in the RDC camp held at New Delhi from January 1-29.

Manjeet Singh,who commanded the parade at Rajpath said,””I am very lucky that amongst 1,900 cadets who came to Delhi for Youth Exchange Programme(YEP),I was selected to command the parade at Rajpath. It was a proud moment for me and I am short of words to express my joy. I joined NCC two years ago,on someone’s advice,but now I have decided to proceed my career in defence services””

The NCC Group representing Shimla received the banner for best NCC group. Expressing his delight,Ravi Raj,a cadet from Shimla said,””It is for the third time that Shimla has received the banner. It a great achievement to get selected for the RDC camp and then win the flag. On returning to Shimla,we will be visiting the Governor’s house””

Congratulating the cadets,Mohabat Singh Virk said,””It a matter of pride that our contingent has bagged the second runner-up position,out of the 17 directorates that came from all over India. And I am sure that in future also,our cadets will bring laureates to the directorate.

Last year also the contingent from Punjab,Haryana,Himachal Pradesh,and Chandigarh bagged the second runner-up position.
