Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will arrive in Chandigarh on Friday afternoon to attend various functions at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research and Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32.
BJP members said the minister would return to New Delhi in the evening. “The home minister would arrive in the city around 3.30pm on Friday. He is coming from Goa and would first visit the Governor’s house. He will then visit PGI for 10 minutes to attend a function,” city BJP chief Sanjay Tandon said.
At PGI, Singh will lay the foundation stone of a sarai by the UT Red Cross. According to the itinerary, the function will start from 5pm and will continue for 10 minutes. Recently, the PGI governing body had given a permission to built a new sarai inside the institute.
Tandon said: “From PGI, the Union home minister will head towards the GMCH in Sector 32, where he will inaugurate the newly-built E block at the institute. He would address the audience at the hospital before leaving for the airport.”
