Heavy rains accompanied by thundershowers led to a dip of 6.6 degrees in the day temperature,which was recorded at 15.6 degrees,four degrees below normal. The cloudy conditions,however,ensured that the minimum temperature remained four notches above normal,at 10.4 degrees. With a total of 14.1 mm rainfall received till 8.30 am,and 26.1 mm later,the city received the highest rainfall recorded in a day in December in the last 10 years.
