APJ Abdul Kalam should come back as he is an educated and sophisticated person. He is well-appreciated and had gained the confidence of people during his tenure. He knows our history and envisions a future for the country for its advancement in all sectors and will not cater to any individual’s interests.

Pranab Mukherjee should be chosen,as he has a lot of political backing and is a seasoned politician, who has been in the political battlefield for more than three decades. He is good with finance and will be able to manage the pressures that come with the office of the President.
Homemaker and resident of Zirakpur
Although I do not follow Indian politics very closely, but I realise that political parties at present are not in favour of any progress or development of the middle class. I will like to see a President who is neutral and not affected by political conditions prevailing in the country. APJ Abdul Kalam, who is known for working for the basic needs and rights of people may be the first choice of many like me.
Agricultural Marketeer and resident of Chandigarh
I think Pranab Mukherjee is an obvious choice. But I think that in the long run,the country needs leaders who are free of political ambitions. In the past,APJ Abdul Kalam has been a worthy President and someone with his vision or he,himself, should come back into power.
Civil Engineer and resident of Panchkula
I think Meira Kumar will be fit for the office,as she has been the speaker and also hails from a Dalit community. In her capacity as President, she will be able to work for the development of the weaker communities. The President has limited powers, but they can be misused. Kumar has an untarnished career record.

Anna Hazare has been working and will continue to work for the benefit of common people if he is elected as the President. He will ensure that the Jan Lokpal Bill is implemented appropriately. Vested interests have been overriding the nominations made by various political parties,so far.
Shopkeeper and resident of Chandigarh
APJ Abdul Kalam is a renowned statesman,a scientist and a sophisticated man. He is free of political inclinations or affiliations and will work for the well being of the country in an unbiased manner. If a President does not show genuine interest to work and improvise, the position will just be reduced to a rubber stamp with no power or meaning.
Businessman and resident of Mohali
I strongly feel that none of the candidates match the example set by Dr Kalam, and I cannot repose my trust in any candidate who will be elected because he/she will have a political majority and so will work in the interest of the party and not in the country’s interest.

Rahul Gandhi is a young man with enthusiastic ambitions who will represent the country in good light. He will bring a fresh perspective to decision making and is good mix of idealism and practicality.
