My journey has remained as a remarkable tapestry of ambition, innovation, and global connectivity, woven from my early days in India to the transformative years in Canada. Born in Ludhiana, my educational journey began at Sacred Heart Convent School, where the foundations of discipline and academic rigor were laid. After my primary education in 1984, I was enrolled to Sri Dashmesh Academy, a boarding school in Anandpur Sahib which was more than a change of institutions; it was an early lesson in adaptability and resilience. These formative years shaped my outlook, ingraining a sense of determination that would characterize my future endeavors.
In a bold move that would set the stage for my future achievements, my family relocated to Toronto, Canada, after grade 10. Here, in the multicultural and vibrant environment of Toronto, I completed my high school education. This phase of my life was pivotal, exposing me to a diversity of cultures and ideas, broadening my horizons, and solidifying my aspirations. Pursuing higher education in Canada, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. The academic rigor and dynamic business environment of Toronto honed my entrepreneurial spirit and stoked my interest in the burgeoning field of technology.
It was in 1997 that I came back to Ludhiana and started my company Xibetnet Technology and then renamed to 01Synergy in early 2000s..

Carrying the lessons and experiences from my academic journey, I embarked on an entrepreneurial path, leading to the inception of 01Synergy. Located in Ludhiana, Punjab, 01Synergy was not just another software company; it was the embodiment of my vision – to create a firm that stood at the confluence of technology and innovation. The company’s name, 01Synergy, is a nod to the binary language of computers, symbolizing the harmonious interplay of zeros and ones, the very foundation of digital technology.
01Synergy ventured into the realm of custom software development, distinguishing itself through its commitment to innovation, quality, and client-centric solutions. The company embarked on a journey to serve a diverse global clientele, transcending geographical boundaries and emerging as a prominent player in the technology sector.
Challenges and Successes
In the dynamic and often unpredictable world of technology, challenges were inevitable. However, I embraced these challenges, viewing them as catalysts for growth and innovation. One of the early milestones at 01Synergy was its collaboration with Cambridge University Press in 2010, a project that involved developing mobile applications for the newly launched iPhone by Apple. This venture not only showcased the company’s technical prowess globally but also its ability to align with the standards and expectations of a leading academic institution.
The company’s foray into e-commerce solutions marked another significant achievement. 01Synergy enabled several U.S.-based e-commerce platforms to achieve millions in daily sales, demonstrating its capacity to drive commercial success through technology.
The most prestigious of 01Synergy’s projects was the development of RONet & ECI360 for the Election Commission of India in 2017.
These applications revolutionized the election process, streamlining everything from candidate nominations to election day operations and result dissemination. The success of this massive undertaking was not just a testament to 01Synergy’s technical expertise but also earned the company the esteemed President’s Award, a recognition that underscored its excellence and innovation.
Global Reach and Impact
Gradually, I sought to create a platform for cultural and educational exchange, leveraging the company’s location in Ludhiana. 01Synergy initiated an internship program that attracted students from Western Europe, offering them an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects while experiencing the unique cultural milieu of Punjab. Similarly, developers from Latin American clients spent months in India, fostering a deeper understanding and collaboration. This exchange program was more than just a professional arrangement; it was a bridge connecting diverse talents and perspectives, enriching the participants and the company alike.
Continuing its trailblazing path, 01Synergy delved into AI-powered solutions. A notable project is the development of a real-time, AI-based custom clearing software for cross-border shipping globally.. This venture is poised to transform the logistics and trade industry, simplifying complex processes and enhancing efficiency.
In the realm of social impact, 01Synergy’s AI platform for mental health stands out. Developed for a client in Denver, Colorado, this platform was particularly beneficial during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering support to frontline workers across the U.S. This initiative underscored the company’s commitment to using technology for societal good.
Beyond work
I am an avid traveller and coffee connoisseur. Travel for me is about immersive experiences and cultural explorations, while my love for coffee takes me on a journey through the world’s diverse coffee cultures, which also led me to open up a coffee shop in Toronto’s Financial District and I am also planning to open a chain of French Boulangeries across Toronto.

I am deeply rooted in Sikh faith, which emphasizes the importance of doing good deeds and using business as a force for positive change. My goals encompass expanding 01Synergy’s global presence and continuing to blend technological innovation with social responsibility. On a personal level, I am dedicated to spiritual growth and maintaining an ethical business practice that aligns with Sikh values.

As I continue to steer 01Synergy, I hop frequently between Ludhiana and Toronto, and this is a testament to my resilience, vision, and unwavering commitment to innovation.
Looking ahead, I am steering the company towards reinvigorating its European presence with plans to set up an office in France in 2024. This expansion is a strategic move to broaden the company’s reach and tap into the dynamic European tech market.
