Punjab govt to launch ‘Saade Buzurg Sadda Maan’ campaign for senior citizens’ well-being

Free eye surgeries will be provided, along with essential medications for senior citizens. (Representational Photo) The Punjab government is set to launch the “Saade Buzurg Sadda Maan” campaign dedicated to the International Day of Senior Citizens in Faridkot on October 3.
Baljit Kaur, the Minister of Social Security, Women, and Child Development, announced that this campaign aims to promote the well-being of the elderly in the state. Under this initiative, health camps will be organised at the district level, offering comprehensive geriatric care for age-related diseases, ENT (Ear Nose Throat) check-ups, eye examinations, and the distribution of free spectacles. Furthermore, free eye surgeries will be provided, along with essential medications for senior citizens. Additionally, senior citizen cards will be issued, and assistance will be provided in filling out old age pension forms.
Additional director Charanjit Singh stated that camps will be organised in all the districts, starting with Faridkot on October 3, Moga on October 5, Ludhiana on October 9, Muktsar Sahib on October 11, Ferozepur on October 13, Fazilka on October 16, Bathinda on October 18, Mansa on October 20, Sangrur on October 23, Malerkotla on October 25, Barnala on October 27, Pathankot on October 30, Gurdaspur on November 1, Amritsar on November 3, Tarn Taran on November 6, Jalandhar on November 8, SBS Nagar on November 10, Hoshiarpur on November 13, Kapurthala on November 15, SAS Nagar on November 17, Patiala on November 20, Rupnagar on November 22 and Fatehgarh Sahib on November 24.
