Punjab CM takes anti-drug pledge at Golden Temple

A drug-free Punjab was one of the promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party and CM Mann during the course of the 2022 election campaign and subsequent events.

During the 2022 campaign, AAP national convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had promised that Punjab would be drug-free within three months of AAP forming a government in the state. During this year’s Independence Day, CM Mann had promised that Punjab would be drug-free in one year.

“We will make Punjab drug-free. With the blessing of the Almighty, the new generation has taken an oath to stay away from drugs. We will make sure that those who have already been addicts should shun the drugs. We have been running recruitment for the police force every year to provide jobs to the youth. Apart from that, jobs are offered in other departments,” Mann said.
