The bhog ceremony of senior journalist K J Singh and his mother was held at Sacha Dhan Sahib Gurdwara in Phase 3A on Thursday, which was attended by family members and friends. The ceremony was started at 12.30 pm and ended at 2 pm. Former Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly Bir Davinder Singh also attended the function.
KJ’s three sisters, nephews and elder brother B P Singh were present. The political and former colleagues of KJ Singh who worked with him also attended the ceremony.
After the ceremony ended, Bir Davinder Singh termed the murders as a big question mark on the law and order. He said five days have passed and the Punjab police could not solve the case. He added that the PCR system of the police needs to be strengthened. “I would suggest the Punjab government to work on the PCR system in the bigger cities. It is strange that the murder came to light after many hours, it means that the PCR does not move in the city. I will speak to senior police officers about the incident,” he said.
Terming the murder of K J Singh as a personal loss to him, Bir Davinder Singh said he would also speak to the DGP regarding the incident.
