The Punjab and Haryana High Court has denied bail to a 57-year-old man booked in a case of murder, and under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA), 33 years ago, and asked him to surrender before the sessions court on August 7.

A bench of Justice Anoop Chitkara was hearing the bail application filed by Paramjit Singh, alias Pamma, who was booked in an FIR registered in May 1991 at Rupnagar, Punjab, under sections 302, 307, 25 of Arms Act and Section 5 of TADA.

Pamma, arraigned as an accused, could not be arrested, was declared a proclaimed offender on August 17, 1992, by a court of Anandpur Sahib and as such final report was filed, and evidence recorded in absentia was filed on September 30, 1992, in the case.
