The two-week long workshop on Capacity Building Programme in Social Sciences concluded on Saturday at the ICSSR North-Western Regional Centre,Panjab University (PU). The workshop was attended by young research scholars and teachers from various disciplines of Social Sciences. Professor Rajesh Gill,in her valedictory address,congratulated the participants and organisers,and stressed on the importance of such kind of training workshops for the researchers in the social sciences to produce a good quality of research.
218 stray cattle impounded in fortnight
Chandigarh: The municipal corporation (MC),in its fortnight-long drive,impounded 218 stray cattle heads from various colonies and parks of the city under the municipal limits. The Special Stray Cattle Catching Drive of the MC started on September 6 and ended on September 21 with the Administration catching 218 cattle heads. The drive was carried out by the staff of Medical Officer of Health,Enforcement and Road Wing and personnel of the Chandigarh Police.
Lions Club organises blood donation camp
Chandigarh: As many as 45 units of blood were donated at a blood donation camp organised by the Lions Club Chandigarh Greater at their vocational training centre in Sector 30 on Saturday.
