Panjab University (PU) is slated to host a three-day long festival CINE MANTHAN-2013 from October 3-5 at the Law Auditorium in the campus. For the students of PU and its affiliated colleges,the experience will be free of cost.
The film festival is being organised in collaboration with the Film Division of India (FDI) and will showcase 39 rare,historical,celebrated and award-winning films,the list of which will be announced on September 30. The theme of the three-day movie extravaganza will be ‘Observation,Archive and Documentation,and it will also include a historical film on the city and news reels of the independent era.
Cine Manthan will be divided into 5 slots each day from 9 am to 8.30 pm,in coherence with the overall theme of the festival. Each day will feature a key note speaker elaborating on the thematic aspect of the festival,followed by an interactive session. There will be no requirement of entry passes,and around 25 seats will be reserved for students of each college of the city.
