The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notices to the Punjab government on an appeal filed by Pavittar Pal Kaur,Secretary,Punjab School Education Board (PSEB),challenging the orders passed by a single bench wherein her appointment was set aside.

The court has issued notices to the state government and Sukhwinder Kaur Saroya, who had challenged Kaur’s appointment.

A petition had been filed on the same by Saroya, who was also a candidate for the post of secretary. Saroya had alleged that a criminal case of serious nature of misconduct is pending against Kaur and her appointment has been made in complete contravention to the rules laid down by the state government.

The division bench, headed by Justice A K Goel, has now asked Saroya and the state government to furnish reasons why the order for setting aside the appointment should not be stayed. Justice Permod Kohli had set aside the appointment of Kaur on March 10.
