Nine topical themes in one play is what one can get to view in One on One,a theatrical collaboration of actors Shernaz Patel,Rajit Kapur and Rahul da Cunha. The play travels to the city courtesy The Durga Das Foundation and Rage Productions and will present on stage nine short (10 to 15 minutes) plays written by various playwrights on themes that will question,anger and intrigue the audiences interest.
Modern,contemporary and relevant to our times,in both English and Hindi,the short plays are based on a range of topics bureaucracy,media,political decisions,social norms and so on. If in Hello Check a glamourous Mumbai housewife gushes to the media about her social engagements,in Kachre ki Hifazat the bodyguard of a chief minister narrates his woes on the CMs mysterious death. Other plays talk of homosexuality,the absurd psychology with which roads are names and Ajmal Kasabs trial,among others. Enacted by a cast of 12,which includes Shernaz Patel,Amit Mistry,Neil Bhoopalam,Preetika Chawla,Kunal Roy Kapoor and Anand Tiwari,the plays have been directed by various directors,including Arghya Lahiri,Rahul Da Cunha,Kunal Roy Kapoor,Akarash Khurana and Nadir Khan,and they promise to simulate the audience to think and trigger animated,internal conversations.
One on One will be staged on April 21 at Tagore Theatre at 7 pm.
