The Derabassi police busted a gang involved in cheating people on pretext of helping them in recruitment exams for various government jobs. The police arrested three accused.

The police officers probing the case told The Indian Express that the fraudsters used to help candidates in solving the question papers. The accused had lured the candidates appearing for Agniveer Vayu exam and the recruitment exams of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

A police officer told The Indian Express that the accused would arrange a fake invigilator. The accused would also share with the candidates the screen of the computer for online exams.

The Indian Air Force would also be involved in the investigation of the case. Police officials said that the nexus could be spread into other states.

The accused were misusing the computer lab of vocational centre at Gholumajra village near Derabassi.

The Derabassi police had already registered a case under sections 420 (cheating) and 120-(criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

“Yogesh who was the fake invigilator was among the three persons arrested so far,” a police officer said, adding that two other accused were identified as Anup and Rahul.
